Buying Guide: over-ear headphones

Headset function and incline control module

Due to the popularity of the iPhone, many of the current microphone inline monster beats by dre headphones cable on the right side of the model, modules and one or more remote control buttons, much like the inline remote on iPhone stock headphones included. At least, in remote functions for controlling media playback; a multifunction button-making, creating and terminating telephone; and using iOS xiii and voice control features. More volume-and the latest models including dedicated buttons down, as well as. Microphone of the module can be used to talk on the phone, making recordings, and Siri, and voice control commands.

In recent years, Apple already supports these features, so you can now use the inline module beats by dre headset with iPhone, iPad, and the iPod touch, and, more recently, the Ipod of Macs and other recent special headset jacks required to standardize on. This has led to more sports special modules, offers many more products for you, without having to give up the remote and microphone headsets that can be quickly and easily choose from models.

Where to buy: it is regrettable,-less brick-mortar retailers quality headphones, even less actually let you try the products in the store--especially if you are talking about in the ear canal headphones. Which makes it difficult to hear the sound and suitable for monster beats headphones, before you purchase. The solution, if you will, is from the same generous return policies, retailers buy, so if you're dissatisfied with the way the headset sound suitable for or when you go home, you can return it. This is for both local and online retailers. For example, Internet headset retailer headroom to carry large amounts of a wide variety of excellent headphones and provides a 30-day. Not ask in return guarantee--level in the ear canal of the model.

How to find when shopping

The sound quality and specification: such as a speaker in our buying guide, you should normally be ignored instructions from the manufacturer--in particular, frequency response. There are no criteria for test methods of frequency response of headphones, numerous vendors to exaggerate its specifications for marketing reasons. Even if the specifications are accurate, they won't tell you a lot about a particular set of headphones actually sounds.

Instead of reading the specification, use your ears. (If you cannot hear the people, read comments from sources that you trust. ) As the speaker, a set of quality headphones and a good balance, treble (top), mid, and bass (low) frequencies, while retaining the details of production between full, rich sound reproduces audio. However, because they are particularly small drivers (speakers), the beats by dre headset challenges unique bass response time: great speakers, woofers, you can not only hear, but I feel it, like most headsets in the visceral impact of the driver is unable to reproduce low bass--you may be able to hear the lowest frequencies, but you may not be able to feel them.

I pointed out that the basic issue, because some vendors fix it by emphasizing some of the bass and the upper bass frequencies, giving them headphones more "kick". This will help stand out from other stores and some headphones headphones-especially those who exercised on or use their headphones beat the visceral impact of matches - really want. But monster headphones tend to become tired, listen as time goes by. If you are interested in accurate audio reproduction, be careful not to be emphasized bass stock. (exaggerated treble detail as well. ) The best approach is to try a set of headphones to listen for hours--or, better, a few days later - with a variety of music. If headphones louder at the end, there is a good chance they'll meet you in the long run.

Monster turbine: the best headphones in the world are?

Part of the problem stems from the monster share of fans and discredits the facts. As one reviewer from Amazon's description of the end user blog, "Monster Cable has been a big enthusiast - sharp views, the two sides flew back and forth message boards and newsgroups verbal attack, when their names like the beleaguered reputation. "

How do you think? Monster is growing injustice of the penalty for that? Or monster turbine companies enabling them to as well?

We have our own headphones review early next year, holidays.

To be fair, some blogs turbines have been reviewed favourably. It is also worth noting the Amazon comments can be written by anyone, including those from other manufacturers (we do not accuse others of things) public relations sales representative. But it is rare you can see almost every "reviewers" getting a star product (at the time of writing this article there were 11 1 star reviews, a four star reviews).

Personally, I think this is dangerous manufacturer, by far marketing hyperbole, particularly if you are entering a more mature market. Yes you want to cause a stir, but provided for under title and is in danger.

Monster in its press release said that the turbines are "the world's first driver specially designed for high performance in-ear headphones deliver impeccable high fidelity sound quality. "Well, this is not correct. Shure vocal audio quality earplugs. Tympanic, too. And several other companies will make the same claim.

She and her music, she has brought a gift, from the monster. "heartbeat by Lady Gaga" Meet beats headphone family is very popular. Legendary artist said: "in the deepest moments of the night, I recognize three things to myself if I was prohibited to write, prohibition to love, or the prohibition of fashion, I was going to die. Heartbeats embody the Trinity of persons with an additional oath to me: it sounds. Wear a heartbeat, love each other, and celebration of art and music lifestyle. "

"Heartbeat by Lady Gaga" headphones, like the gorgeous diamond earrings and shape inspired Lady Gaga music, unique design pattern makes a lot of people got hooked on. Unusual shape, is completely free of conservative design philosophy to the headset, and brings a comprehensive mix of fashion and avant-garde art. Lady Gaga is United States music scene's most popular stars. Lady Gaga explosion on the global cultural landscape this year. Her fashion and her voice shocked the music world with the innovation. Monster Cable clear one of the HD model

Immediately behind the handheld; elegantly embed iPod/phone System docking station power button and volume wheel is at the right side of the unit. Monster was completed correctly--I arrived in shiny yellow racing - and good together (in China, of course), like the grippe rubber surface of the button described above and, from removable wheels and cautiously, puff metals screen pilots red good decorations. Very good, but how they sounded?

Clear HD models are genuine speakers tide monster beats by dre to enter for the first time. It is a note. Design is impressive, and technologies: multiple audio inputs, iPod/telephone set of bi-directional, digital cross, mobile monitors docked to the top of the appropriate speaker (with provided mini-remote, command and iDevice the loudspeaker) and good design.

For example, the model is the top note of inset handles so grab happy-although you won't go so far, because you have the correct channel speakers are plugged into the wall power supply. Thick conductors (DIN) links for cable connections, and around the right side of the unit, in addition to the AC power inlet, you will find mini-phone, RCA Jack and one-fourth (phone plug) stereo input, all of which are active simultaneously. Is also a future wireless module and a +2/0/-2 dB high filter switches slot? (A surprising, is there a numerical input, USB or other means. )

To find out the answer, my HD clarity on my usual speaker station, contact them, they are plugged in to the wall, who is my iPhone to the dock, and by providing positive of the HDs. Steve Eerka-credit plays on the remote control "end" as if by magic, it sounds terrific. Sound balance in nature, there is no "wave" or "Tag Heuer" shades of the majority of the "desktop" speaker subjected to (many people at large), and support for their dynamic surprised and "spaces" transient like a snare drum, elaborate design taste that only active speakers or large amounts of amplification and high-end passive speaker to achieve.

In short, Monster beats by dre model is very rich indeed, if a little expensive; can you passive components (say, c 316BEE integrated amp and PSB image B5-sur-shelf double) spend the same money, and almost two price-out and performance costs.

However, did not mention Monster beats by dre portable convenience factor, compact, or iPod/phone docking station. Nor is their versatility: clarity HD makes Super monitor (I only play I passed them through my favorite, AmpKit app rocks happy hour) iPhone guitar rig and the keyboard better monitor - they sounds great I Kurzweill PC-1 x power supply, with enough power and only enough to make the entire piano reproduction of extension. Automatic mixed signals all entered already exist, so you can jam on the spot with friends.

So clarity of the monster HDs Dai Duo hat, and wearing them is definitely very good. So do these processor models from companies like power monitor designed for m-audio and Mackay - minus the docking station. However, for the moment, "consumption space" clarity of HD is a unique solution--whether as an iPod docking station is at or very near the top of the heap.

His top--a tiny light of clarity may be deliberately to significantly increase production of. , "Studio monitors" sound. Likewise they punching dynamic pop bass eight degrees (50-200 Hz), so that they fit the most widely heard on the type of music. In fact, reminds me a lot of recording the pros and cons of semi-pros are a model m-bridge their console (and some amazing big albums in the past have produced) that some processor power monitor
.

That being said, constant "0 dB" develop clarity of HDs back-panel tweeter control sounds a bit light in my settings; settings, -2 dB though still certain "forward" some eight degrees at the top, it is appropriate. +2 DB sets are still bright and, of course, but still no pain, "gritty" or harsh, this shows that have been generally smooth tweeter response, but some of the enthusiasm level are set.

Nonetheless, due to shift-2 DB and passed a little boy is a model of a switch. Balance is close to the ideal. Monster beats by dre transmission incredibly detailed sound, including an impressive build-up of a string and full orchestra of music playback, and have a very well-arrayed Stereo Studio.

At the other end, far less than honest 50 Hz, reached a base model and deliver useful output and less than at least some music--this is stirring, so relatively compact 6.5-inch two-way. Secret: powered speakers are one of the many advantages of designer ideally can match the sub woofer amp and driver, reacts and EQ to extend what happens otherwise.

AKG's new reference: K550

K550 is one of the first impressions that it sounded very clean and almost like electrostatic (San transients). This is much better than S and K701 K701 ' so-called "synthetic" not sure clean tone. I also think that the tonal balance of the K550 S, will be better, more appropriate weight compared to low-end K701. Overall sound quite laid back, I do not consider that it plays well with the fast-paced music, but it is not nearly the same slow pace HD650.

It is not the perfect beats by dre headphones, K550 I think that, at the end of the market while in exceptionally clear, very smooth, you need some extra body. I understand that in the end adds somebody will compromise the clarity of the otherwise admirable sense and it does not work well with the overall sound of the K550. Another thing I want to add is a somewhat heavy low end body. I don't consider the K550 lack of bass, but more feeling good Grand Slam. I really don't whine about the pace of the headset. It is not for Thain company HD650/800 or Shure SRH1840 easily, but still relaxes. It is suitable for my music, most of the pace, but I would not recommend it as the main headset if you listen to something extremely fast rock and metal.

I reckon the AKG has successfully created a new base $300 beats headphones. You can even take the K550 and prefer Sony 'sZ1000. Shure SRH1840 or W1000X audio technology and K550 will still be very competitive.

The sound impression

From the AKG's new K550 sounds quite different from all other AKGs before release to the market. It rather does not share the same signature AKG Studio models (K240, K271 and variants), most have been discontinued full-size Monster headphones (K301-401-501-601-701), or any past their unique full size models (K340, K1000). Apart from minor housing reverb, I would say the K550 K701 is superior in virtually every respect. Music listens to the still remaining very linear and does not have too much color, sound very nice balance. Noise floor level is very low, result in a black background and a variety of excellent instrument separation.

Comparison of K701

I criticized K701 Studio is one of the things. Although broad, is not very accurate in the presentation. K701 Studio images, and weak center image is ambiguous. The K550 has improved in this area again 701 ' s performance, regardless of the fact that it is not very open deep K701 logging. Studio performance was solid possession of considerable width and depth. It is slightly narrower width than K701 ' s, but a lot of the deeper depths. Imaging Center image is accurate with a good consistency of the studio and the left and right. K550 may be more closed design, turn off the sound, but there surely is an improvement from the K701 Studio performance.

Talk about technical issues, in addition to the K550 is furthermore to improve the tonal balance, thus better balance and the sound of music. The K550 has a nice low end body, sound and feels well planted with minimal enough where K701 believes is mainly due to the lack of low-end weight was ambiguous. Slightly sunken K550 vocals, but more smooth vocals, lots separate from the rest of the instrument. Lack of food also helps to sound more smooth vocals, K701 sounds more obvious, despite the fact that rough more forward.

Finally, high frequency, K550 is more relaxed than the K701 forwards ' s relative highs. Black background, however, and perhaps likewise the K550 gives you the ability to better treble driver resolution I heard better at the top of the K550. It truly is the best of both worlds: a less glaring treble is an extension.

More comparisons

To move from typical Sennheiser HD650/600 K550, mind blowing how much more clean sound of sound is very noisy with the Senns K550. Bass Slam of HD600/650 I has been spoiled and it is difficult to adapt to something less than that (or even my HD700/HD800 of the complaints are the same: more bass drop), but this is a matter of personal preference, and technically the K550 is only HD600/650 in many ways than Thain.

Shure can charge its grainy sounding SRH1840 700 Yuan, K550 clearly stole $ 300. Shure not sounds more organic and more music to my ears, especially at the K550 s mid market moderately flat, sometimes makes AKG sound. However, when we talk about the clarity and technical aspects, and I will give the upper hand to AKG.

You can like him-500 planes to try to match the K550 ' s methodological issues, but even then AKG K550 still will be a lot better. Background is still the K550, sound, clean, and Studio imaging, accuracy, depth and coordinates all black was the Soviet Union
